Kuchisake-onna covered his mouth with a surgical mask and often roaming in the city at night, especially when it is foggy. When you meet someone (especially children or students) in the deserted street, he would ask, "Am I pretty?" (Watashi Kirei). If the person answered "yes", he would open his mask and asked again, "Even if like this? "At that point, if the victim is usually shocked and scared to say no, he would kill her with scissors, machetes, sickles, or other sharp weapons. If the victim still say yes after seeing her face behind a mask, he will be happy and free, but some are saying even if the victims do that, Kuchisake-onna follow him to the new house would kill him at the door of the victim. When the victims are women, Kuchisake-onna will tear up his mouth like him, when the victims are children, he would eat it. Kuchisake-onna also have super speed 100 yard/******* 

In the spring and summer of 1979, rumors started to spread throughout Japan about sightings of the Kuchisake-onna hunting down children. The story was spread like wildfire, causing many of Japan’s towns to become afraid of the Kuchisake-Onna. It even caused the police to increased their patrols and made schools send teachers to walk students home in groups 
A popular urban legend in 70'an said that the victim would survive when he answered the "ordinary course". While the 2000s version says that the victim would survive if answered, "yeah so" so-onna Kuchisake confused and think first what he would do, when he was puzzled that the victim had a chance to escape. Another way to get away from Kuchisake-onna is to offer parents a yellow hard candy because he liked it but could not enjoy it so reminded him again in his suffering. In addition it could also say "pomade" three times, there is mention of six times. Saying it would scare him, and obscured by the surgeon reminded him of damaging his face. Victims can also use the pomade to prevent follow.
